Butterflies Welcome

 

 

 

The season of sunshine is coming!
Bright light and happy colours are on the way!

 

 

Even the paint tin on the table has been all bright and happy.

 

 

I have had Spring on my mind for a bit.

But what with all the snow that just keeps on coming

I just had to take some action and make myself some

flowers instead.

 

 

Nothing like having some happy flowers around all year.

 

 

Winter can definitely stop now.

 

I am so ready for the real thing!

Colour colour everywhere!

 

I like picking the brightest happy colours when the weather outside

is white and chilly. It is almost like having a bit of Summer during the

colder months on the inside.

 

 

Winter is such a great season for sewing, knitting and crocheting.

All snug as a bug. Candles and big cups of hot drinks to keep you

company.

 

 

 

Maybe I am just easily pleased.

 

Bright happy colours just brighten up the day.

And making lovely soft items with the colourful yarns makes for happiness.

 

 

I personally can't imagine living in a place where there are no Seasons.

Where there is no need to make scarfs and warm yarny things.

 

 

I just love the colours of happiness.

The poppy brightness of pinks and greens and purples

and yellows and blues and and and.....

 

I guess I just love colour!

 

Little bit of this

.... and a little bit of that!

 

 

It feels so wonderful to be back in the swing of things again.

 

I have been so gone for so long I found it difficult to return to my

craft and my creations.

Life had become so full of living and surviving I forgot about all the

things that make me happy.

 

 

Now my table is constantly full of one project, two projects

and more projects.

 

It is nice to mix and match all the different things I enjoy.

Even the sewing machine has been sitting on the table.

 

My heart is just full of all the good stuff !

Flower Garden Blanket

 How does one control oneself when in a yarn shop?

 

They don't.

At least I don't.

 

 

 

I just can not resist all the yummy yarns and the idea of sitting down

and creating something wonderfully soft with happy coloured yarn.

 

 

Maybe it is just a yarn-thing.

I don't know.

 

I add some coffee and tea to the mix.

Some candles and some music and I just create.

I often have no plan.

I just start, and it happens somehow.

 

This popcorn blanket I made for a lovely lady as an order.

The colours are just poppy and happy.

 

And the Garden blanket was born.

It has such a lovely feel of Summer.

 

I don't often take on orders for crochet blankets, because it takes such

a long time to make these. But I could not resist.

 

I had just made a large soft flower cushion,

and I thought it would look wonderful as a blanket, too.

 

The cushion is available for purchase in my shop, but the large blanket

has already been sold.

Candy Cushion

 

How many teeny little granny squares can one person make?

(laughs) Well, I did quite a lot of them!

 

 

 

 

 

I wanted to make a small cushion.

You know how it goes.

You start crocheting without a plan, and for some odd reason

the plan keeps changing, and you just keep adding and adding....

 

Thank goodness for chocolate cookies

to keep the engines going....

 

 

My little cushion did not want to be small, it did not want to be

medium, it wanted to be L A R G E

 

 

.... in the end I decided that just over 350 granny squares was quite enough!

 

And this happy big cushion now sits on my sofa and the kidlets fight for

a snuggle with it.

 

Mission accomplished!

 

Not being able to use my right hand for about a week was

so worth it!

To remain

My life has been a constant coming and going, moving and staying.

I have moved from country to country.

I wrapped and packed our belongings more times than I care to remember.

I have only ever had one dream, and that was to have a simple life.

Small dreams and simplicity of living.....

 

But I guess life had different plans for me.

Instead we have been living upside down in a state of uncertainty.

My dream remains the same.

I dream of boring simple living....

 

... and feel blessed all the same.

I have such a lovely bunch of family right around me.

 

 

My cup as always been full.

And for that I am grateful.

 

Our adventure is still in full motion,

will we stay, will we go.

 

It would be nice to finally just stay.

I will keep you posted.

Life is not boring, that is for certain.

Hello Sunshine!

 

 

Hello Sunshine

 

I just checked my calendar and it says September.

September?

When I look outside my windows it definitely does not look like September!

The squirrels are constantly hopping around on my balcony and amongst the trees.

The hummingbirds are humming around the feeder all day long, and all the fans are

still blowing. And I think it is definitely ice-cream Friday again. Something chocolatey for

certain, and caramel (nods).

 

Have been working on my bright coloured illustrations again today, and there is

still summer going on in there, too.

 

I am secretly really enjoying it.

And the ice cream will be enjoyed even more later.
