Unfinished faces

There is folders full of unfinished faces. Gathering dust in dusky lofts. I am not sure if there is meaning to my rarely finished faces? As our own youth never remains standing still in time. Perhaps that is why I never feel a painting is ever finished? Or perhaps I am just difficult and silly?
I ponder about finishing what I have, or starting something new.
Do you have piles of projects or paintings that are waiting for you to take out and finish?
Or is it just me?

  1. Seriously?

In the quilting world, we call them UFO's...Un Finished Objects and they can haunt us.

I have been enjoying a surge in creative energy as I sort through them and get honest with myself. If I'm still interested in where the project is going, I save it and actually work on it. If I have my doubts, I pitch it. It's sometimes tough to do, but ultimately it's very freeing.

Sending you best wishes as you navigate your piles.

  2. I feel the same way. I am a painter though I hardly paint anymore and I could never finish a painting. I have stacks and stacks of them. And I loved doing portraits. I also have stacks of unfinished sewing projects.

Good to see you back! :)

  3. Well, I don't even start, so I don't have to finish.

Ok, that's just true with paintings. I have lots of unfinsihed knitting and sewing projects floating around. But well, there's not much creativity about finishing. I wonder where you still take the time for painting from.

I just a few minutes ago sorted trough my old decos and mail art stuff and got lost in memories of those times back. totally other world/life back then.

  4. I have so many unfinished quilts, but have made the effort to start finishing them, while still starting new ones.
