Vive la différence

In between doing lots of painting -there I go again- I put a frame together, and painted that too! [ blame the hands, the brain has nothing to do with it ]
I had no print/picture that would fit it's large size, so I painted something myself. Which seems to be such a running theme in our home lately. The celebration/acceptance of being yourself. And if you happen to be different, it is nothing to be ashamed of, it should be celebrated *nods*

I can't say I am done. The bed room is next, then the hallway and landing.
And truth is that I am not quite done with the living room yet. Or the kitchen.

But I 'need' to do some work on paper, and will be adding lots of new cotton tapes to my shop in a week or so. I am not too happy about my shop being closed, but it is the only way to get my to-do-list to shrink.

In the mean time, if you get a chance, go and do something different, be different somehow. It is a great feeling to to break out of routines.

  1. It truly is. I am still struggling to find my way back after the spring break and the camp. But I feel good. Beside this I am eating 5 days raw food in a row. Want to have a cleanse.

Got your lovely mail yesterday. And indeed. It made me smile. You are such a lovely friend!

  2. you couldn't believe how much I love what you made here, the thought behind it, and this post too, of course.
you are right, being different is something to be proud of, and something to celebrate everyday.
love you tons, I hope you're doing better today.

  3. that is really love and inspirational, I really need to get decorating here, loads of touch ups in the kitchen and livingroom and I must really have a go at the bedroom which is still the yellowy cream that it was when we moved in and its needs to be fresh and more me as its my creative area too.

  4. Love your little picture (do you think you'll be turning this into one of your postcards?).

I received your great postcard yesterday - what a lovely picture. I was so inspired that I went and ordered myself some from Moo. I'm not the greatest photographer in the world, but I give it a go - fingers crossed the photos I've picked out, make decent postcards. They'll be good for my Postcrossing adventures if nothing else. Shall I send you one when I get them?

Hope all is well with you.
    Jill x

  5. Can I just say that I just love you?!♥

  6. It's so good to be amongst blue apples!!!

PS. Thank you for the stripy legged postcard! :)

  7. Love "home"!!! Got one myself recently and am loving it. Do I spot the Ektorp floral sofa there? It is lovely!!!

  8. the theme of the week in this household too. It's scary to think that my little girl is growing up, the peer pressure, the acceptance of who she is. She really smart though, but still it makes me nervous thinking the "what if's ". I'm glad I got my tape right before you break:)

  9. I love nesting ! Not quite at calling somewhere home yet, maybe in a couple of years. Your "home" picture is something to cherish and hang on too. Literally. Perfect. and so is it's surroundings. Make sure you posts pics/snippets of all your updated interiors.

  10. Being different is a gift and you are so gifted Anna. I love what you did with that frame. (and your curtains are so lovely !)Don't feel bad about closing your shop, it is only for a tiny period and it will just do you good. :)
    savor those momments.
    sending you tons of love,
p.s. here in Canada, we do not have those speculoos, my daughter Genevieve ships them from Brussels and when she came for a visit last april, she brought lots, i can survive until the next shipment :)

  11. I lvoe this! Great job. Oh and by "lvoe" I mean "love", I'm just to "lzay" to go back and correct it!

  12. Hi Anna,
This is a wonderful! I love it and I SO love your blog. There is something very fresh and wonderful about everything you do!

  13. Wow that frame is fantastic, you should make some and sell them whilst you are doing your different things :-) Glad you are enjoying being spontaneous and in tune with yourself - fantastic!

  14. ooh by the way there is a little blog award waiting for you at mine - not sure if I already told you, my brain doesn't work well with 2 1/2 years of broken sleep lol

  15. i heart you so much, anna!! (and i could go on and on about how much i absolutely ADORE all of the little anna-touches in your sweet home, but i don't think the blogger post area gives me enough room to write everything that i would want to say!!). xox, :))

  16. I love that little picture!

  17. i have done lots of painting myself lately, and i do do love it. next i will start to paint some vintage furniture.

  18. I love that! And I love your suggestion to go do something different. I should go pull Anna out from school and got to lunch! Yipee!! ♥

  19. I am loving your frame so much! Come to think of it, i always love everything and anything you create! They always make me feel happy and smile looking at your creations! It's so true that something we need to do something different from what we do almost all the time! The inspiration will come and just flow in all directions! Have a lovely merry happy day and love to yoU!
