Closing Down

It is time for me to let go.

But with a sad heart I realize I have reached the point I must say goodbye to my cotton tape shop. I sold my very first tape almost a year and a half ago, and dedicated all my time since to running my shop, and creating new designs. It was only yesterday when I decided to make a mosaic of images, of all the tapes I created, and there were so many, that I stopped at a 104. Not realising I had been that busy.
Besides my illustrated tapes, I know I created over 500 custom made tapes, and there have been countless silly large wholesale orders in between that saw me working diligently through the nights.

I am not sure if I am doing the right thing, but I have been trying to combine my cotton tape shop, with my other creativity, but as hard as I tried, I just could not find the time.
I love creating the tapes, but it was never my intention that these would take over my every day life.

So I will be removing all my cotton tapes in 2 weeks time, to allow for last orders, before they will be gone for ever.

I will be re-opening again later on in the year, with new items and a much smaller selection of cotton tapes. I have been so excited, for so long, about ideas that have been living in my head, that I figure that now is the right time to make this really difficult decision. [ this has been my 'baby' for a long time ]

I would like to say thank you ever so much to all my customers, who have all been so wonderful!

I will be back, and I will even bring back the most popular tapes when I open again. But I really need change, inspiration and motivation.

If you would like to place an order please do contact me. If there is a tape in my sold section, I can re-list this item for you, no problem at all.

Customers who have ordered custom made tape from my shop before, can still re-order their tapes!

Thank you so much again for a most amazing year-and-a-half!

  1. Wow! But I think it is the right decision for you to do. And you can always go back to them if you feel the need for it. But sometimes it's good to move on. I wish you lots of energy for your new projects.

  5. Oh my goodness, so many tape designs! I had no idea...I can totally understand your move to close down. A successful item like that can spark creativity but it can also limit it in other ways. (mmmm that sounds a bit vague but I'm sure you understand what I mean!)x

  43. Dear Anna, I read in an old post that you wished to be considered an artist but that you didn't think you were....look at all the beautiful things you've created to date - you are the artist you want to be. I think you are very brave.....remember if you always do what you've always done you will always have what you've always had...!!!! You're truly unique, I love my labels and I will be back for more but I will give you a little time to wind down first.
