Bright Side

I always have these bright ideas. I think it, and then I have to do it. Not in a week. Not even the next day, usually I would prefer to have done it yesterday.

I am impatiently sanding my wood cabinet, that has 13 drawers. (Yes I did say it has 13 drawers)

I assumed it would take me a day to finish. Tops. [ says a lot about how bright I am .... ]

Am I the only one though that finds painting therapeutic? Going into a zone. Mmmm. Lost to the world. All is well, all the same. It only needs about 5 layers (falls on floor)

I haven't even had a chance to open two large packages I received in the mail these last two days (!)

Will sit down properly tonight, and check out the goodies :)
But for now I am back to painting and sanding, and painting and sanding.

  1. I'm in the middle of painting too. The Bookshelves. They have to go from woodclour to white. And I made an equally BRIGHT planning upfront. 'Couple of hours' should have been 'two days'... HAHA! :o)

Thank God my Boyfriend just took over from me.

    Good luck!

  3. How is it that you haven't torn those two parcels to pieces? You've got more will power than I have. I'd much prefer opening packages than painting.

  4. Smiling thinking about you painting away...have fun. Your cabinet sounds intriguing. I haven't painted in a very long time, but I have this stone garden elf that stands taller than my knees and is worn out. I was thinking about sanding and scraping him down, then painting him (with something other than that original boring white).

  5. The drawers to your wood cabinet are looking really nice! And those packages look so fun to open! I can't believe that you have yet to open them. :) Have a lovely merry happy week and love to you!

  6. 5!!! layers??? That is really therapeutic! I like painting too but I do just 1 layer, no sanding. I hate it when the brush looses hair and I have to grab into the wet paint to put the hair out.
    Well, enjoy your therapy!

  8. I hate sanding!!!
I have done SO much of it as I used to restore furniture and I'm sure I have injured my shoulders due to the motion.
I'm sure it'll look wonderful finished and you will feel SO proud you did it!
HUGS and have a great day.

  9. Painting I don't mind but the sanding part is what I don't like doing.

I too sometimes will wait to open packages and even the cards and letters for later when I can really enjoy it.

  11. I do love painting, especially hallways or rooms with really high ceilings. Or outdoor murals. But I wouldn't be able to resist the temptation of freshly arrived packages!

I've passed along a blog award to you (you can see it in this post). No need to respond, I just want you to know that I really enjoy your blog :)

  14. Wood cabinets are nice to look at. They give an additional zest to the room. Plus, it creates a natural-feel making you feel closer to nature. They can be remodeled as well depending on your preference.
